CNC Machining & Tool Making
In 1999 Otmar Machine Tools established a CNC division to remain competitive and improve our service offering using the latest technology. From a small start of one CNC lathe we have since expanded to 5 lathes and 3 machining centres. We are also able to offer wire electrical discharge machining (Wire EDM) on a Charmilles Robofil 240 SL machine.
We specialise in small batch machining with short turnaround times and by continuously updating our software we are able to offer the following services:
- Wire EDM: maximum workpiece length 450mm; width 250mm; height 320mm; weight 750kg
- CNC milling with fully integrated 4th axis
- CNC turning up to 500mm diameter and 1.5 metre in length with live tooling
- Design and programming using the latest CAD/CAM software
With a wide range of conventional machines we are also able to offer slotting, broaching, light fabrication, CO² and TIG welding as well as plate rolling and cutting
